Chelsea manager Frank Lampard has completed the capture of Leicester City full-back Ben Chilwell according to reports on The Blues’ official website.

The 23-year-old Milton Keynes-born defender has signed a five-year contract at Stamford Bridge while it is believed that Chelsea have paid Leicester City around £45 million to secure the player’s services.

Chilwell joins Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner in moving to Stamford Bridge so far this summer.

The defender joined former club Leicester City’s academy system at just 13 years of age. Chilwell starred for The Foxes at youth level before graduating to the senior squad.

Chilwell made his first team debut for Leicester City in 2015 in a Carabao Cup tie against Hull City. Since making his maiden appearance for The Foxes, the player has gone on to feature for Leicester City on 122 occasions while he has netted four goals.

The defender’s performances for his club have not gone unnoticed with Chilwell having been capped by England at senior level on 11 occasions. Since making his debut against Switzerland in 2018, Chilwell has been heavily involved for his country.

Chilwell could make his Chelsea debut against Brighton & Hove Albion at The Amex Stadium on the opening day of the 2020/2021 Premier League season.
