Chelsea FC Women will face FA Women’s Super League title rivals Manchester City in the semi-finals of this season’s FA Women’s Continental League Cup after the draw was made this afternoon.

After easing out of their group as group winners, Emma Hayes’ Blues side demolished Reading 4-0 in their quarter-final tie at Kingsmeadow on Wednesday evening.

The draw for the last four has now taken place and it has been revealed that Chelsea will take on title rivals Manchester City in a mouth-watering semi-final tie at Kingsmeadow next month. The tie has a familiar feel about it with the two clubs having met each other at exactly the same stage of the competition last season and at the same venue. On that occasion, Manchester City advanced to the final as a result of a 1-0 win.

Manchester City’s journey in this season’s competition has been a very similar one to Chelsea’s. Nick Cushing’s side also won their group while they easily beat their quarter-final opponents, Brighton & Hove Albion, 7-1 at a foggy Academy Stadium on Thursday evening.

The semi-final clash between Chelsea and Manchester City is set to be staged during the week commencing 4 February, just days before the pair meet again at The Academy Stadium in the FA Women’s Super League. Full details will be announced in due course.
