Young Chelsea goalkeeper Brad Collins has extended his loan deal with Sky Bet League One club Burton Albion until the end of the season according to The Blues’ official website.

The 21-year-old Southampton-born stopper initially joined The Brewers in August on a loan deal until the New Year.

Collins has impressed Burton Albion manager Nigel Clough during his time at The Pirelli Stadium and it has now been revealed that the former non-league club will retain the player’s services until the end of the season.

The youngster has made 14 appearances in all competitions for Burton Albion while he has kept four clean sheets.

Collins has been on the books at parent club Chelsea since he was just 12 years old. The keeper has won both the UEFA Youth League and FA Youth Cup with The Blues’ academy sides but is yet to make his first team debut for the club.

The keeper enjoyed his first taste of senior football last season as he spent the entire campaign on loan at Sky Bet League Two club Forest Green Rovers. Collins made 45 appearances in all competitions for Rovers as they successfully secured league football for another season following their promotion from The National League in 2016/2017.

Collins could play in Burton Albion’s two-legged Carabao Cup semi-final with Manchester City later this month.
