Chelsea Under-19s will face French club AS Monaco in the next round of this season’s UEFA Youth League after the draw for the play-off round was made earlier today.

Joe Edwards’ men have been unstoppable in this season’s competition so far and will be keen to go one better than last term when they were runners-up.

It has now been revealed that The Young Blues will face French giants AS Monaco in the play-off round of the competition. The tie will be a one-off fixture which will take place at Chelsea’s Cobham training ground on Tuesday 19 February, kick-off 5pm.

The winners of the play-off round tie will advance to the round of 16 and will be joined by the winners from the UEFA Champions League qualifying section of the competition.

Chelsea stormed through the first round of the competition with a stunning 14-1 aggregate victory over Norwegian outfit Molde FK.  The Blues won the first leg 10-1 at Cobham before defeating the Norwegians 4-0 on their own patch in the second leg.

The next round saw Edwards’ men face Swedish club IF Elfsborg and The Blues were 3-0 winners in Boras before finishing the job off in Surrey with a 6-0 success.

Chelsea lost 3-0 to FC Barcelona in last season’s final in Nyon.
