Chelsea FC Women are into the last eight of this season’s FA Women’s Continental League Cup after beating Yeovil Town Ladies 7-0 at Kingsmeadow this evening.

The Blues were 5-0 winners over Lee Burch’s side in the FA Women’s Super League just a couple of weeks ago and they were even more deadly in attack in their latest meeting.

Chelsea took the lead in the second minute when Jonna Andersson crossed for Adelina Engman to tap in the opener from close range and Drew Spence soon made it 2-0 with a spectacular diving header.

Beth England added a third goal when she got on the end of a Karen Carney cross before Nicola Cousins, who was sent-off on her last visit to Kingsmeadow with Yeovil Town, netted an own goal to hand The Blues a 4-0 advantage going into the break.

Emma Hayes’ side had to wait until just after the hour before finding the back of the net again. Engman this time turning provider for Spence to score.

Erin Cuthbert’s sublime free-kick gave Chelsea a 6-0 advantage with 15 minutes remaining on the clock before an impressive individual goal from England ended the scoring late on.

Chelsea are back in action on Sunday when they travel to the Stadium to face Brighton & Hove Albion.
