Chelsea Under-18s have continued their good form in the Under-18 Premier League with a 2-1 victory against Norwich City at Cobham this afternoon.

Jack Wakely struck the winner on the hour as The Blues’ positive start under new boss Andy Myers continued.

In a match which saw Chelsea boss the possession but rarely test visiting keeper Will Johnson, The Blues had to hold their nerve before finding the breakthrough.

A goalless first half produced little quality in-front of goal for either side as they returned to the dressing rooms searching for a plan B.

Chelsea were awarded a penalty kick in the 56th minute and midfielder Jon Russell stepped up to slam the ball home from the spot.

Norwich City’s fightback was swift and two minutes later they levelled when Andrew Omobamidele got on the end of an Atli Barkarson pass to score.

The home side showed great character themselves to get back in-front when Russell played in Wakely to fire in the winner on the hour.

Both sides had opportunities to add to the scoreline but some wayward finishing saw the match end 2-1 in Chelsea’s favour.

Myers’ side are back in action on Saturday 24 November when they travel to neighbours Fulham in the Under-18 Premier League.
