Sunday will mark the tenth Premier League season where Chelsea and Crystal Palace have both been in the Premier League.
During their previous 18 league meetings since the Premier League was founded in 1992, the Blues have been victorious on 12 occasions and there have been two draws, whilst Palace have won the other four.
All four of those victories for the Eagles have come in the last four-and-a-half years, proving that they have become a regular bogey team of the Blues’ in recent years.
Several players have represented both of these London sides from the opposite ends of South London during their careers, we focussed on three of those men ahead of their upcoming meeting.
Loic Remy (Chelsea 2014-2017, Crystal Palace 2016-2017)
French striker Loic Remy joined Chelsea in a £10.5 million transfer from fellow London side Queens Park Rangers in August 2014.
Remy scored nine goals in all competitions during his debut season, helping Jose Mourinho’s side to win the Premier League and League Cup double.
His second and final full season in the first-team saw him net just three times in 20 matches, scoring only once in the league.
He was then sent on a season-long loan spell across the capital to Crystal Palace, where his quest for regular game time and goals failed to go to plan, and made just eight appearances, failing to score for the Eagles.
In September 2017, Remy joined Spanish side Las Palmas on a free transfer, and after a loan spell with Getafe, is now back in his native France with Lille.
Ashley Cole (Crystal Palace 2000, Chelsea 2006-2014)
Six years before Ashley Cole signed for Chelsea in controversial circumstances, he embarked on a loan move at Selhurst Park from North London side Arsenal.
During his two-and-a-half months with the club, Cole scored once in 14 appearances, before returning to Highbury and establishing himself as one of England’s finest.
In 2006, Cole left North London for Chelsea in a highly disputed £5 million plus player deal that saw William Gallas move the other way.
The England international went on to enjoy eight successful seasons with the Blues; Cole made 338 appearances, scored seven goals and went onto win nine major honours, including a league title and the Champions League.
His time at Stamford Bridge came to an end in 2014, where after losing his spot in the team to Cesar Azpilicueta, saw him move to Roma for two seasons.
In 2016, he moved to the United States of America to join Los Angeles Galaxy, where he still currently plays alongside ex-Manchester United striker, Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
During the peak of his career, Cole was dubbed as one of the greatest full-backs in world football and to have ever represented England’s national side.
Scott Sinclair (Chelsea 2005-2010, Crystal Palace 2008)
Winger Scott Sinclair was signed by Chelsea from Bristol Rovers in 2005.
His career in South West London saw him make just 14 senior appearances for the Blues between 2006 and 2009 and he went out on loan six different times.
The third of those loans saw him move to Palace for the final two months of the 2007/08 season, where he scored twice in eight appearances on their way to the Sky Bet Championship Play-Off semi-finals.
After leaving Chelsea permanently in August 2010, Scott Sinclair signed for Swansea City for £500,000.
He is now currently in Scotland with Celtic, where he has scored over 40 goals on his way to winning five major honours with the Bhoys.
