Chelsea will face English Premier League rivals AFC Bournemouth in the quarter-finals of this season’s Carabao Cup.

The Blues’ beat Frank Lampard’s Derby County 3-2 at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday evening in their fourth round tie.

The draw for the quarter-finals was made following The Blues’ clash with The Rams and it has been revealed that Maurizio Sarri’s men will face English Premier League rivals AFC Bournemouth at The Bridge in the next round.

Chelsea and AFC Bournemouth have already met at The Bridge in the league this season. The Blues’ were 2-0 winners against The Cherries in early September with both Pedro and Eden Hazard on the scoresheet.

The two clubs have been drawn together in the League Cup on three occasions in the past with Chelsea winning all three ties. Their last meeting in the competition came at the same stage last season when The Blues won 2-1. William and Alvaro Morata netted for a Chelsea side who were then managed by Antonio Conte while Dan Gosling scored the visitors’ goal.

Elsewhere in this season’s Carabao Cup draw, Arsenal face Tottenham Hotspur in a North London derby while Leicester City or Southampton will take on Manchester City or Fulham. The last two non-top flight sides face each other as Middlesbrough host Burton Albion.

All ties will take place in the week commencing 17 December.
