Chelsea will be aiming to write a new chapter to their history of frantic battles with Liverpool when the pair meet in the English Premier League at Stamford Bridge on Saturday.

The Blues fought back from a goal down to beat The Reds 2-1 in the Carabao Cup at Anfield in midweek with attacker Eden Hazard scoring a truly spectacular winning goal.

Ahead of the latest meeting between two of the English Premier League greats, Blues boss Maurizio Sarri is sweating over the fitness of defender Antonio Rudiger who has a groin injury.

Centre-back Andreas Christensen, midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek and striker Pedro have all been declared fit to be considered for squad selection after recovering from their respective illnesses and injuries.

Liverpool could be without key defender Vigil van Dijk for the trip to South West London with the Dutchman currently struggling with a rib problem. Fellow defender Trent Alexander-Arnold and midfielder Georginio Wijnaldum are available for selection despite being doubts for the match earlier this week.

Both sides are expected to make wholesale changes to their starting line-ups this weekend after resting a number of players for the game in midweek. Carabao Cup match-winner Hazard is expected to be recalled to the Chelsea side as he looks to continue his superb start to the season.

The match is scheduled to kick-off at 5.30pm on Saturday evening and will be screened live on BT Sport 1.
