Chelsea FC Women are into the last 16 of this season’s UEFA Women’s Champions League after beating Bosnian club SFK 2000 Sarajevo 6-0 at Kingsmeadow this evening.

The Blues already led 5-0 from the first leg but there was no let-up as the tie ended with an 11-0 aggregate scoreline.

In-form forward Drew Spence hit Chelsea’s first goal of the evening after just five minutes after being teed up by Kirby before the latter tapped in her 50th goal in all competitions for The Blues just after the half hour mark after rounding the SFK 2000 Sarajevo keeper.

The second half began with Norwegian defender Maren Mjelde curling in a stunning free-kick to make it 3-0 on the night and 8-0 on aggregate before Adelina Engman missed a great opportunity to get her name amongst the scorers when she placed an effort wide of the target.

Substitute Erin Cuthbert then fired a shot just wide before Kirby netted her second and Chelsea’s fourth of the night after profiting from a one-on-one situation.

Hannah Blundell bundled home a fifth after Cuthbert’s initial shot had been saved before the Scot finally got her name on the scoresheet, tapping in a loose ball after Kirby had been denied the hat-trick.

Chelsea are the only representatives remaining in the competitions from the FA Women’s Super League after Manchester City crashed out at The Academy Stadium.
