Out of favour Chelsea striker Michy Batshuayi will again spend time away from Stamford Bridge with the player having joined Spanish side Valencia on a season-long loan deal according to The Blues’ official website.

The 24-year-old Belgian international frontman has struggled for game time at The Bridge since joining Chelsea from Marseille in a reported £33.2 million deal in summer 2016 and will not feature in new Blues boss Maurizio Sarri’s immediate plans for the club.

It has been reported that Batshuayi has joined La Liga club Valencia on a season-long loan deal. The striker was expected to move to Borussia Dortmund following a successful loan stint with the German club last season but no deal has been forthcoming.

Since moving to South West London, Batshuayi has had to be content with cup football and a substitute role. The player’s goalscoring record of 19 goals in 53 appearances for Chelsea is far from disappointing given his lack of minutes on the pitch.

Batshuayi’s loan move to Borussia Dortmund in January saw the Belgian hit a purple patch with nine goals in just 14 outings before an ankle injury prematurely ended his season.

Former Blues boss Antonio Conte maintained the fact that Batshuayi was one for the future at Stamford Bridge and new manager Sarri has also indicated that the player is not yet ready for regular starts in the first team.
