Chelsea defender Jon Panzo has joined French Ligue 1 club AS Monaco on a permanent deal according to The Blues’ official website.

The 18-year-old London-born defender has represented The Blues at all youth levels but has never made a senior appearance for the club.

It has now been reported that Panzo has joined French club AS Monaco. The player is likely to initially link up with the development side at the State Louis II as he looks to stake his claim for senior football in the top tier of French football.

Panzo joined the Chelsea academy as an eight-year-old and successfully negotiated his way through the age groups at Stamford Bridge. Last season, the defender was part of a Chelsea Under-18s side which won a domestic quadruple. The Blues lifted the Under-18 Premier League Southern and National titles whilst they also won the Under-18 Premier League Cup and FA Youth Cup.

The youngster has also won silverware on the international stage with England. Panzo was part of the Under-17 side which lifted the FIFA Under-17 World Cup last year.

Full details of Panzo’s move to AS Monaco have not been revealed. It is unknown whether Chelsea have received a transfer fee for the teenager.
