Chelsea Ladies manager Emma Hayes was amongst the award winners at the League Managers’ Association’s annual awards ceremony on Tuesday evening.

The Blues boss has enjoyed arguably her best season at the club to date with her side competing in four different competitions.

Chelsea won the SSE Women’s FA Cup final at Wembley earlier this month while a 2-0 victory at Bristol City Women on Tuesday evening ensured that The Blues clinched the FA Women’s Super League 1 title with one game to spare. The South West Londoners also reached the semi-finals of both the Continental Tyres Cup and the UEFA Women’s Champions League.

The Blues’ achievements under the guidance of manager Hayes this season have been recognised by the League Managers’ Association who have awarded the Chelsea boss the FA Women’s Super League 1 Manager of the Year Award. Hayes has been the key figure behind the development of Chelsea Ladies Football Club since her arrival in 2012 and she has achieved more than any other manager in the FA Women’s Super League 1.

Under Hayes, Chelsea won their first top flight league title in 2015 while they also won their maiden SSE Women’s FA Cup in that same season. The Blues were 2017 FA Women’s Super League 1 Spring Series winners 12 months ago and they have backed that feat up with another league and cup double this term.

Hayes signed a new three-and-a-half year deal with Chelsea last October.
