Italian club Juventus’ interest in bringing Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata back to the club has been confirmed by Sky Sports sources.

The 25-year-old Madrid born forward spent two years with Juve between 2014-2016 in which he scored 27 goals in 93 appearances for The Old Lady.

The Spaniard’s game time at current club Chelsea has been hit by both injuries and the form of fellow striker Olivier Giroud. Morata has long been tipped with a Stamford Bridge exit after spending just one season with The Blues with the player not thought to have settled in England.

Last week, the Chelsea Presser reported that former club Juventus were keen to re-sign Morata this summer and those rumours have now been strengthened with Sky Sports also indicating that a transfer bid from the Serie A giants is likely.

Chelsea paid a club-record transfer fee of close to £60 million to sign Morata from Real Madrid last summer but the striker has struggled to replicate the form of former Blues striker Diego Costa who left the club to join Atletico Madrid.

Morata has netted under a goal every three games for Chelsea and the player is yet to convince some fans that he is the man to fire the club to glory in the future. The striker could push for a return to his native Spain, although a move to Italy is now seemingly also an option.
