January transfer window signing Olivier Giroud is again expected to be the hero for Chelsea this afternoon as they take on English Premier League rivals Southampton at Wembley in the semi-finals of the Emirates FA Cup.

The 31-year-old French international hotshot scored his first goals for The Blues last weekend at they defeated The Saints 3-2 in a league fixture at St Mary’s Stadium.

Giroud could again be selected by manager Antonio Conte at the national stadium this afternoon and should he make the starting XI, fans of the Chelsea Presser website will feel more confident of their side’s chances of meeting Manchester United in the final.

Ahead of the match, we asked fans whether Chelsea will beat Southampton at Wembley. Blues fans voted in their numbers with 100% of those who took part opting for a win for Conte’s men.

In a second fan poll, the Chelsea faithful were asked how many goals they think their side will score against Southampton. Two or three goals was the most favourable outcome with 75% of the votes while 12% think that The Blues could score four or more. Just 13% anticipate a clean sheet from the out of form Saints while there were no votes cast in favour of one goal.

Finally, with Giroud having got off the mark at St Mary’s Stadium for his new club last weekend, we asked whether the former Arsenal man would net against Southampton again at Wembley. Fans voted in support of the Frenchman with 82% opting for at least one goal for the striker.

The match is scheduled to kick-off at 3pm and will be screened live on BT Sport 1.
