English Premier League champions Chelsea have completed the signing of young Crewe Alexandra striker George Nunn according to BBC Sport.
The 16-year-old frontman has not played senior football for the Sky Bet League Two club but has impressed at academy level.
Nunn’s good performances have resulted in a number of scouts going to watch the youngster in action this season and it has now been revealed that Chelsea have been successful in making a move for the player. Crewe Alexandra have reportedly agreed a deal with The Blues which will see Nunn move to Stamford Bridge for a compensation fee of around £300,00, although that fee is likely to rise if the teenager goes on to become a first team star in the top flight of English football.
The youngster is initially expected to link up with Jody Morris’ Under-18 side as he looks to build a career at Stamford Bridge but Nunn only needs to look at the example set by fellow former fourth tier footballer Ethan Ampadu to see how much faith first team manager Antonio Conte has put in youth this term.
Chelsea Under-18s are the most successful side in the country in that age group. The Blues have won the Under-18 Premier League Cup and look well-placed to lift the Under-18 Premier League title and the FA Youth Cup.
