Chelsea Ladies winger Crystal Dunn has agreed a deal to join American club North Carolina Courage with immediate effect according to The Blues’ official website.

The 25-year-old New York born ace returns to her homeland after spending the last 13-and-a-half months in England with The Blues.

Dunn has played an instrumental role for Emma Hayes’ side in her short period with the club and was a key member of the Chelsea side which held their nerve to win the 2017 FA Women’s Super League 1 Spring Series in June.

The winger has also represented The Blues in the UEFA Women’s Champions League, helping her side reach the last eight of the competition for the first time in their history while her outings in the domestic cups were always impressive.

Dunn spent time in North Carolina earlier in her career with US college club the North Carolina Tar Heels and the player will now return to that state as she looks to further her career.

The American winger made her final Chelsea appearance in the 2-2 draw with Manchester City Women at the Academy Stadium on Saturday. Dunn played her part in keeping Hayes’ side at the league summit by teeing up teammate Ji So-Yun to score The Blues’ second goal of the match.
