Scottish Premiership club Celtic have completed the signing of Chelsea attacker Charly Musonda on a loan deal until the end of the 2018/2019 campaign.

The 21-year-old travelled to Glasgow to discuss a temporary transfer to Celtic Park after Chelsea’s 3-0 FA Cup Fourth Round victory over Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge on Sunday and the player has now agreed his 18-month loan move.

It is thought that several clubs from across Europe had expressed an interest in loaning the highly-rated youngster but Musonda made the decision that he was best suited to a move to the Scottish Premiership champions.

Belgian ace Musonda is a product of the Chelsea academy system and the player was handed his first team debut for The Blues in August. The former Real Betis loanee has gone on to make seven senior appearances for The Blues this term with the player scoring his first goal for the club in the 5-1 home victory over Nottingham Forest in the EFL Cup.

Musonda’s new short term employers Celtic have won six Scottish Premiership titles on the spin and look destined for a seventh success. The player’s move north of the border should give him good opportunities to win some silverware while there is a chance that Musonda could play in Europe in the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Champions League.
