Chelsea will play Hull City at Stamford Bridge in the Fifth Round of this season’s FA Cup after the draw was made earlier this evening.
The Blues find themselves at this stage of the competition after seeing off the challenges of both Norwich City and Newcastle United in the previous rounds.
In the Third Round, Antonio Conte’s men were held to a goalless draw with Norwich City at Carrow Road before battling to a 1-1 draw in the replay at The Bridge. Chelsea finally edged through on penalty kicks after both Pedro and Alvaro Morata had been sent off in extra time.
On Sunday, The Blues faced fellow English Premier League club Newcastle United in the Fourth Round in SW6 and it was to be a comfortable afternoon for Chelsea with Conte’s men running out 3-0 winners. Out of favour frontman Michy Batshuayi bagged a hat-trick while Marcos Alonso was also on the scoresheet with a stunning free-kick.
The Fifth Round draw has paired Chelsea with a Hull City side which are in poor form in the Sky Bet Championship. The Tigers sit outside of the relegation zone only by goal difference following a torrid campaign.
The tie is scheduled to be played on the weekend of 17-18 February will full details to be provided in due course.
