Sky Bet Championship club Birmingham City are understood to be looking to sign Chelsea midfielder Kasey Palmer on loan for the remainder of the season according to the Mirror.

The 21-year-old Lewisham born midfield ace was a Sky Bet Championship promotion winner during a loan spell at Huddersfield Town last season.

The player re-joined The Terriers on a season-long loan arrangement this term but has failed to retain his place in head coach David Wagner’s side with the club having put up a good fight for English Premier League survival during the first half of the season.

Palmer has recently been recalled by parent club Chelsea as a result of his lack of game time in West Yorkshire and it has now been reported that Birmingham City are ready to offer to take the player on loan as they look to retain their Sky Bet Championship status.

The midfielder came through The Blues’ academy system but is yet to make his first team debut for Chelsea. During his loan spells with Huddersfield Town, Palmer made 32 appearances in which he scored five goals.

As well as the interest from St Andrews, it is believed that Birmingham City’s Sky Bet Championship rivals Sheffield United and Sheffield Wednesday are also keen on the England Under-21 international.
