The Chelsea Development Squad will face Sky Bet League Two club Lincoln City away from home in the semi-finals of this season’s Checkatrade Trophy.

Joe Edwards’ men were 3-0 winners against Oxford United in the quarter-finals at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening with Harvey St Clair, Daishawn Redan and Juan Castillo getting the goals for The Blues.

Chelsea’s reward for that comprehensive victory is a trip to Sincil Bank where they will take on a Lincoln City side which have settled back into life in the English Football League well since their promotion from The National League last season.

The Blues drew with both Plymouth Argyle and Yeovil Town in the group stage before losing on penalty kicks while a win over Exeter City in their last group match has been followed up with impressive knockout victories over MK Dons, Portsmouth and Oxford United.

The semi-final clash against Lincoln City is scheduled to take place on take place on Tuesday 6 February (kick-off 7.45pm). The match will be shown live on Sky Sports.
