Chelsea winger Kenedy has joined English Premier League rivals Newcastle United on a loan deal for the remainder of the season according to The Blues’ official website.

The 21-year-old Brazilian wideman has been in and around the first team squad at Stamford Bridge this season but the player has found regular game time in short supply.

It has now been reported that Kenedy will spend the next few months with Newcastle United as the Tyneside club look to secure a second season of top flight football following last season’s promotion from the Sky Bet Championship. The Magpies are currently just one point clear of the relegation zone and a nervous period awaits loyal fans of the club.

Brazil Under-23 winger Kenedy started his career in his homeland with Fluminense before moving to Chelsea in summer 2015 in a reported £6.3 million deal.  The player has made 27 first team appearances for The Blues in which he has scored three goals.

Kenedy started last season on loan at Watford but things didn’t work out for him at Vicarage Road and the winger soon returned to Chelsea after suffering a catalogue of injury problems.

Newcastle United have been looking to sign Kenedy for some time. The player seemed destined to join The Magpies on loan in August but a shortage of first team players in the Chelsea squad scuppered his move at that time.
