Chelsea will be hoping to reach the Carabao Cup final for the second time in four seasons on Wednesday evening.
To do so, they will have to force London rivals Arsenal to at least a score draw on Wednesday evening at the Emirates Stadium, having drawn 0-0 in their semi-final first leg at Stamford Bridge a fortnight ago.
Both sides have struggled for form in January, but the capital duo returned to their best at the weekend as they both scored four goals against relegation-threatened sides.
Here is how we predict Antonio Conte will set out his Chelsea side as they prepare to take on Arsenal for the fifth time this season.
Predicted line-up (3-4-3): Thibaut Courtois; Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger; Victor Moses, N’Golo Kante, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Marcos Alonso; Willian, Michy Batshuayi, Eden Hazard
Predicted substitutes: Willy Caballero, David Luiz, Davide Zappacosta, Ross Barkley, Ethan Ampadu, Pedro, Charly Musonda
After missing The Blues’ 4-0 victory over Brighton and Hove Albion on Saturday with a suspected ankle injury, Thibaut Courtois could be available to return to the starting XI for the trip to the Emirates.
Despite being forced off with a head contusion at the weekend, Andreas Christensen should be available to start against The Gunners. As a result of Gary Cahill’s current injury, Christensen is likely to play alongside Cesar Azpilicueta and Antonio Rudiger, the trio that guided The Blues to their first league win of 2018 on Saturday.
Nigerian international Victor Moses scored his first league goal for 14 months as Chelsea cruised to victory on the south coast, he is likely to keep his place at right wing-back.
Injuries to Danny Drinkwater and Cesc Fabregas have given the partnership of N’Golo Kante and Tiemoue Bakayoko more time to blossom in the middle of midfield and after recent success playing in a 3-4-3 formation, Conte may opt to use the French pair once again.
With The Blues in cruise control against The Seagulls, Marcos Alonso was substituted early in the second half to rest him the upcoming last-four tie with Arsenal; he is likely to complete the suspected four-man midfield on Wednesday.
When given starting opportunities this season, Brazilian winger Willian has excelled, scoring four goals and providing six assists in his 24 appearances, despite only starting in half of his English Premier League outings.
With Conte potentially open to starting with three in attack in North London, Willian could be handed a start alongside the in-form Eden Hazard as the two wingers. Alvaro Morata missed the win over Brighton and Hove Albion through suspension and the player has now picked up a back injury leaving his manager with an unwanted selection headache. Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi could be considered to deputise for the Spaniard.
It will be a tight affair when these two sides meet once again and like their last three meetings this season, it is likely to end as a draw.
Score Prediction: Arsenal 1-1 Chelsea
