Spanish giants Atletico Madrid could join Chelsea in the battle to sign Torino goal machine Andrea Belotti according to The Sun.

The 24-year-old Calcinate born hotshot has long been linked with a move to Chelsea although The Blues are yet to persuade the player that his future is in England or tempt Torino into a sale.

Chelsea were previously thought to be willing to thrash out a deal which could rise up to £55 million for the Italian international striker but Torino were holding firm with Belotti having a reported £85 million buy-out clause in his contract.

It is now believed that Spanish outfit Atletico Madrid are also admirers of the striker and the La Liga club could submit a transfer offer for the player in the summer which could end Chelsea’s hopes of finally landing Belotti.

The Blues gained an unwanted club record in their latest match against Leicester City at Stamford Bridge. Chelsea have now recorded three goalless draws on the bounce and manager Antonio Conte must surely look to bring in another forward this month.

Chelsea’s best opportunity of signing Belotti could be by making a move in the current transfer window before Atletico Madrid crank up their own interest in the player.

Belotti has scored seven goals in 18 outings for Torino so far this term however the player netted a hugely impressive 28 strikes in all competitions last season.
