No less than six Chelsea Ladies players have been named in the England Women squad for a 10-day training camp in La Manga this month.

The Football Association have announced that interim head coach Mo Marley will take her squad to Spain for a training camp this weekend as they look to keep in touch ahead of their next 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifier which is scheduled to take place in April.

Marley has named several Chelsea players in her 30-player squad with goalkeeper Carly Telford, defenders Gilly Flaherty and Millie Bright, midfielder Drew Spence and forwards Karen Carney and Fran Kirby all having been included.

Telford, Bright, Carney and Kirby were previously named in the squad for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup qualifiers against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kazakhstan in November while both Flaherty and Spence have been handed recalls by interim head coach Marley.

All six players have been heavily involved at club level throughout the season with Chelsea manager Emma Hayes having used squad rotation with The Blues competing in the league as well as both domestic and European cup competitions.

The training camp could prove to be the last England senior task for head coach Marley with The Football Association expected to appoint a new manager before the fixture against Wales in Southampton on 6 April 2018.
