Chelsea will face a home tie against English Premier League rivals Newcastle United in the Fourth Round of this season’s FA Cup should they successfully defeat Norwich City in their Third Round replay at Stamford Bridge.

The Blues were held to a goalless draw by The Canaries at Carrow Road on Saturday evening and the two sides go head-to-head at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday 17 January in the replay.

Norwich City had the better of the first half in Norfolk while The Canaries restricted Chelsea to mainly shots from long range in the second period as the match ended 0-0 resulting in a replay at Stamford Bridge.

The winners will face Newcastle United in the next round after The Magpies defeated Sky Bet League Two side Luton Town 3-1 at St James’ Park in their own Third Round tie at the weekend.

Chelsea have a good recent record against Newcastle United at Stamford Bridge. The Blues have won each of their last five meetings in SW6. Their last meeting at The Bridge was last month when Chelsea beat The Magpies 3-1 thanks to a double from Eden Hazard and an Alvaro Morata strike. The Tynesiders last won at Stamford Bridge in May 2012 when a Papiss Cisse double left Chelsea crashing to a shock 2-0 defeat.

The Blues’ potential Fourth Round tie is scheduled to take place on the weekend of 26-29 January 2018.
