Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is thought to be desperate to hold on to key duo Thibaut Courtois and Eden Hazard according to Sky Sports sources.

The pair have both been influential for The Blues this season although neither player is yet to agree a new deal with the English Premier League champions.

With Spanish giants Real Madrid having been linked with moves for both players during the past 12 months, Blues boss Conte has insisted that the Belgian duo are more important to the club than ever and Chelsea do not want to lose them.

Courtois has been The Blues’ number one keeper for the past three-and-a-half seasons since breaking into the side upon his return from successful loan spells with Atletico Madrid. A new deal for the player at Stamford Bridge has long been on the horizon however no extension has yet been agreed.

Fellow countryman Hazard has been voted the Chelsea Player of the Year on no less than three occasions with his latest gong coming last season as The Blues won the English Premier League title. The attacker is thought to be finding it difficult to agree fresh terms with Chelsea as the contract saga rumbles on.

Neither player is expected to leave Stamford Bridge during the January transfer window with departures possibly set to occur in the summer if new deals are not agreed.
