Chelsea’s Boxing Day match against Brighton & Hove Albion will be their first league meeting with them since 1989.
So far, in their maiden season in the English Premier League, Brighton are currently in 12th position in the league standings.
The Blues missed the chance to put more pressure on second placed Manchester United on Saturday, after being held to a 0-0 draw by Everton.
Here is The Blues team that we are predicting for their tie at Stamford Bridge.
Predicted line-up (3-5-2): Thibaut Courtois; Cesar Azpilicueta, Andreas Christensen, Gary Cahill; Victor Moses, N’Golo Kante, Tiemoue Bakayoko, Cesc Fabregas, Marcos Alonso; Eden Hazard, Alvaro Morata
Predicted substitutes: Willy Caballero, Antonio Rudiger, Davide Zappacosta, Danny Drinkwater, Willian, Pedro, Michy Batshuayi
Only United’s David de Gea has recorded more clean sheets in the league than Thibaut Courtois; The Blues’ Belgian stopper has the opportunity to reach 10 top-flight clean sheets for the season on Tuesday against Brighton & Hove Albion.
After not featuring against Everton, club captain Gary Cahill could return to the starting XI in place of Antonio Rudiger, where he is likely to play alongside Cesar Azpilicueta and Andreas Christensen in a three-man defence.
First choice wing-backs Victor Moses and Marcos Alonso are likely to retain their places, on either side of potentially a five-man midfield.
After Chelsea failed to leave Goodison Park with three points at the weekend, manager Antonio Conte could opt for a tactical shuffle back to a 3-5-2 set-up. Therefore, the French duo of N’Golo Kante and Tiemoue Bakayoko could play alongside Cesc Fabregas in midfield.
Alvaro Morata missed the match against The Toffees due to suspension; he is eligible for the match and could partner Eden Hazard up front.
Despite Brighton & Hove Albion’s victory over Watford at the weekend, Chelsea should comfortably win on Boxing Day.
Score Prediction: Chelsea 3-1 Brighton & Hove Albion
