Chelsea will be looking to return to winning ways in the English Premier League when they face Brighton & Hove Albion at Stamford Bridge on Boxing Day.

The Blues were held to a goalless draw by Everton at Goodison Park on Saturday and Antonio Conte’s men lost further ground in the title race as a result.

Chelsea go into their latest match without Brazilian centre-back David Luiz who continues to be sidelined with a knee injury while youngster Charly Musonda is still nursing a groin problem. The Blues will welcome back summer signing Alvaro Morata following suspension and the player is expected to start against The Seagulls.

Brighton & Hove Albion make the trip to South West London without midfielder Steve Sidwell who has a back problem. Chelsea attacker Izzy Brown is ineligible to face his parent club under the rules of his loan arrangement.

Albion boss Chris Hughton will have defender Shane Duffy available following suspension and the player is set to slot straight back into the side.

The latest meeting between the two sides will be the ninth and just the fourth match to take place at Stamford Bridge. Brighton & Hove Albion have lost on all three of their previous trips to SW6 while they are yet to score at the venue.

The match is scheduled to kick-off at 3pm and has not been selected for live television coverage.
