Shakhtar Donetsk winger Bernard is believed to have been offered the opportunity to join English Premier League champions Chelsea according to Metro.

The 25-year-old Brazilian wideman is out of contract at the Metalist Stadium at the end of the current campaign and the player is thought to be unwilling to accept the offer of a new contract with the Ukrainian champions.

It has now been reported that representatives from Chelsea have contacted the midfielder to discuss the possibility of a move to Stamford Bridge while The Blues’ English Premier League rivals Arsenal and Liverpool are also said to be keen on signing Bernard when his contract expires.

The player started his career in his homeland with Atletico Mineiro where he went on to make 100 first team appearances in all competitions and scored 22 goals.

In August 2013, Bernard joined current club Shakhtar Donetsk in a deal reportedly worth close to £25 million and the winger has gone on to win the league title, the Ukrainian Cup and the Ukrainian Super Cup on two occasions.

Bernard is enjoying his most successful campaign with Shakhtar Donetsk to date and the player is ready to test himself in a more competitive European division. While the midfielder is available on a free transfer in the summer, his club could be willing to let him leave in a cut-price deal in January.
