In-form Chelsea striker Alvaro Morata could recover from a hamstring injury in time to face Crystal Palace at Selhurst Park on Saturday according to Metro.

The 24-year-old Madrid born goal machine sustained the injury during the first half of Chelsea’s 1-0 defeat to English Premier League title rivals Manchester City at Stamford Bridge 11 days ago and the player was initially rumoured to be expected to miss up to six weeks of action.

While the full extent of the injury has not be disclosed, Morata has taken to social media to confirm that he is back in training and there is a real chance that the striker could play a part for The Blues in their league fixture against struggling Palace in South London this weekend.

Since signing for Chelsea in a reported £60 million deal from Spanish giants Real Madrid in the summer, the player has quickly established himself as The Blues’ star man. Morata has bagged seven goals in nine appearances in all competitions for the South West Londoners with six of those goals coming in just seven outings in the English Premier League.

Chelsea must try to bounce back to winning ways at the first time of asking against The Eagles and the potential return of Morata could provide the club with a real boost ahead of the clash.
