Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is understood to be ready to reignite his interest in Napoli left-back Faouzi Ghoulam according to Metro.

The 26-year-old Algerian international defender was thought to be a target for Chelsea in the summer and it is believed that The Blues could return for the player during the January transfer window.

The English Premier League champions are not the only club thought to be tracking Ghoulam. Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp is understood to be particularly eager to acquire the player’s services while Manchester City are also known admirers.

Ghoulam is thought to be stalling over signing a new contract at Napoli and the defender could try to force a move away from the Stadio San Paulo in the upcoming transfer window.

The player started his career in France with Saint-Etienne where he successfully went on to make the jump from the academy system to the first team. Ghoulam made 97 senior appearances for the Ligue 1 outfit and scored one goal.

In 2013, Ghoulam joined current club Napoli and the player has played a key role in his four seasons with The Little Donkeys. The full-back has experienced playing in European competition with his club but may need to move on in order to play in the UEFA Champions League on a regular basis and the English Premier League could be a possible destination.
