Chelsea have been dealt a further injury scare with star midfielder N’Golo Kante having picked up a suspected hamstring injury whilst on international duty with France according to the Mail Online.

The 26-year-old Paris born midfield ace has played a key role for The Blues this season with Kante making 10 appearances in all competitions for the club, scoring one goal.

On Saturday, Kante featured for France in their 1-0 victory over Bulgaria in Sofia but the player was hauled off after just 34 minutes after picking up what looked to be a hamstring injury. It has been reported that the midfielder will not be fit to face Belarus in Paris on Tuesday evening and will instead return to London to be assessed by the Chelsea medical staff.

News of Kante’s injury comes as another bitter blow to Chelsea boss Antonio Conte with the club having already seen Alvaro Morata limp off during last weekend’s 1-0 defeat to English Premier League title rivals Manchester City at Stamford Bridge. The striker could miss some key games for The Blues in the coming weeks and the club cannot afford to lose a second influential player in Kante.

The full extent of the Frenchman’s injury is not yet known however Chelsea will hope that it is only a minor strain and that Kante will be back in action next weekend when the club travel to Crystal Palace.
