Stamford Bridge will play host to one of the biggest clashes so far in the 2017/18 English Premier League campaign, when Chelsea face Manchester City on Saturday evening.

The two teams are in scintillating form going into this match; Chelsea are unbeaten in their last eight matches in all competitions, whilst City have not yet lost in any of their nine games so far this season.

Chelsea are coming off the back of a memorable 2-1 win away at Atletico Madrid in the UEFA Champions League on Wednesday. Manchester City also ran out victorious in midweek in the same competition, with a comfortable 2-0 victory at home to Shakhtar Donetsk on Tuesday.

Historically at The Bridge, City have struggled. Pep Guardiola’s side have only picked up one league victory in their past seven league visits to South West London. However, City’s all-time record English Premier League goalscorer Sergio Aguero has scored 10 goals and provided three assists in his 15 career matches against The Blues.

Chelsea’s Eden Hazard also has a history of performing well against The Sky Blues, netting four times and creating the same amount during his 13 career meetings against City.

Guardiola’s men are currently top of the league table, three points clear of their latest opponents; but a win for Chelsea would put them level on points with The Citizens.

Saturday’s hosts will be eager to continue to build on their win on Wednesday, with many fans and journalists considering it to be Chelsea’s greatest performance since Antonio Conte took charge at the start of last season.

Both sides will ooze confidence and we can expect a fiery contest, full of goals, strong challenges and end-to-end action.

It will really set a marker for the season if either team comes out with the three points at full-time.

Score prediction: Chelsea 1-1 Manchester City
