The Chelsea Development Squad face a huge test of character on day one of the new Premier League 2 campaign with The Blues having been handed an opening day trip to Manchester City.

Joe Edwards’ men will face City in the luxurious surroundings of The Etihad Stadium rather than their usual Academy Stadium home.

Chelsea face a trip to Home Park to play Plymouth Argyle in the Checkatrade Trophy in the first week of the season while their first home game is against Derby County, the side who they faced in the final match of last season.
