Dutch club Vitesse Arnhem have completed the permanent signing of young Chelsea midfielder Mukhtar Ali according to The Blues’ official website.

The 19-year-old Somalia born midfield whizkid leaves Stamford Bridge with the aim of enjoying regular first team football after being frustrated by the South West Londoners since graduating from the academy system.

It has been reported that Ali has signed a three-year deal with Vitesse while the transfer fee paid to The Blues has been left undisclosed.

The young midfielder leaves The Bridge having failed to make a single first team appearance for Chelsea. Ali  won the FA Youth Cup on three occasions with The Blues whilst he also lifted the UEFA Youth League title.

Ali’s only experience of senior football came during the second half of last season when he was sent out on loan to Vitesse. The youngster made six appearances in the Eredivisie for the Dutch club and the player has impressed Vitas boss Henk Fraser enough to earn a permanent deal at the GelreDome.

The midfielder is tipped to enjoy a bright future in the game however it was always going to be difficult to grab an opportunity with Chelsea and the move to Vitesse gives the player a real chance to succeed.
