Hoffenheim centre back Niklas Süle is understood to be a target of Chelsea and Bayern Munich according to Metro.

The 21 year old Frankfurt born defender has starred in the Bundesliga this season with Hoffenheim having started the season with a 12 match unbeaten run. RB Leipzig are the only other club yet to taste defeat in the top flight.

Süle’s excellent performances have not gone unnoticed with both Chelsea and Bayern Munich rumoured to be considering a swoop for the player in the New Year. The Blues are expected to sign further defensive competition in the upcoming transfer window and German international centre back Süle is the latest of a long list of players linked with a move to Stamford Bridge

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is continuing to keep his options open with The Blues having to eventually replace veteran defender John Terry. Danish defender Andreas Christensen who is currently on loan at Borussia Mönchengladbach has been tipped to replace Terry however the youngster could opt to leave Stamford Bridge next summer.

Hoffenheim star Süle graduated through the club’s youth ranks to make 90 senior appearances for 1899 while the defender has scored six goals.

The young defender has previously been linked with a move to the Premier League with The Blues’ title rivals Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur thought to be tracking the player in recent months.
