Young Chelsea defender Marc Guehi will continue his footballing education on loan at Sky Bet Championship club Swansea City again this season according to reports on The Blues’ official website.

The 20-year-old Ivorian-born defender enjoyed a successful loan spell at The Liberty Stadium during the second half of last season, helping The Swans qualify for the Sky Bet Championship play-offs.

Guehi made 14 appearances in total for Swansea City, including 12 outings in the Sky Bet Championship. The defender featured in both legs of Swansea City’s Sky Bet Championship play-off semi-final ties against Brentford.

With the player having impressed The Swans head coach Steve Cooper, it has been revealed that Guehi will return to the club for a season-long loan in 2020/2021. Swansea City return to action with their Carabao Cup tie against local rivals Newport County on 5 September.

Guehi joined parent club Chelsea as a nine-year-old after being spotted playing for Cray Wanderers. The youngster successfully worked his way through the various age groups before making his senior debut for The Blues in the Carabao Cup last season as they defeated Grimsby Town 7-1 at Stamford Bridge.

The player’s promising start has also seen him drafted into the fold for the England Under-21 side.
