Chelsea FC Women vice-captain Millie Bright has signed a new three-year contract extension with the club according to reports on The Blues’ official website.
The 26-year-old centre-back is the latest Chelsea star to commit her future to the club. She follows Beth England, Erin Cuthbert and Guro Reiten in signing a new long term deal at Kingsmeadow.
Bright has made almost 100 appearances for the South West Londoners in the FA Women’s Super League. In that near-century of outings, the defender has won the FA Women’s Super League title on two occasions while she also lifted the 2017 FA Women’s Super League Spring Series with The Blues. Bright has also won three domestic cups with Chelsea while she has been a leader for the club in their long pursuit of UEFA Women’s Champions League glory.
Speaking to Chelsea’s official media sources after signing her new deal, Bright said “It’s a massive honour for a big club like Chelsea to want you to sign again, for the length that I have.
“To stay at a club that I absolutely love to bits, the players, the staff, representing the badge, it’s everything that I’ve ever dreamt of and I couldn’t imagine myself being anywhere else.”
Bright and Chelsea kick-off their 2020/2021 campaign with a trip to Manchester United on 5/6 September.
