Chelsea FC Women midfielder Erin Cuthbert has signed a new three-year contract with the club according to reports on The Blues’ official website.

The 22-year-old Irvine-born midfielder has dazzled in her Chelsea career so far since joining the club from Glasgow City in 2017.

Cuthbert appeared in all-but-two of Chelsea’s competitive fixtures in 2019/2020 and with the player being a key member of the squad, the club have today announced that the Scot has agreed to remain at Kingsmeadow until summer 2023.

This season should see Cuthbert hit a century of appearances in a Chelsea shirt. She would have surely achieved that milestone last season with the player currently on 98 but the premature end to the campaign has left her two outings shy of the 100 mark.

During her time with Chelsea, Cuthbert has lifted the league title on two occasions while she also won the 2017 FA Women’s Super League 1 Spring Series with The Blues. The midfielder has collected three domestic cup winners’ medals after lifting two Women’s FA Cups and one FA Women’s Continental League Cup as a Chelsea player.

Cuthbert joins Chelsea’s star forward Beth England in signing a new contract with the club. England signed a four-year extension with the South West Londoners earlier this week.
