Chelsea will be hoping to confirm their qualification for next season’s UEFA Champions League by defeating Premier League champions Liverpool at Anfield on Wednesday evening.

The Blues need just three points to make sure of a top four finish in the Premier League following Leicester City’s end of season collapse.

Chelsea’s latest opponents Liverpool are in mediocre form going into Wednesday’s fixture on Merseyside. Jurgen Klopp’s side have not won either of their last two matches, although there is nothing other than pride to play for.

The Reds could have midfielder James Milner available for selection following a recent muscle problem while Dejan Lovren, Xherdan Shaqiri and Takumi Minamino are all pushing for starts.

Chelsea midfielder N’Golo Kante could travel to Anfield after finally overcoming a hamstring injury. The Blues are sweating over the fitness of Christian Pulisic who is carrying a knock while Fikayo Tomori and Billy Gilmour remain out.

Liverpool won the reverse fixture 2-1 at Stamford Bridge back in September. Strikes from Trent-Alexander and Roberto Firmino gave the visitors a comfortable lead before N’Golo Kante pulled a goal back in the final quarter of the match.

The match is scheduled to kick-off at 8.15pm on Wednesday evening and will be screened live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League channels.
