Chelsea will be hoping to get back on track after Saturday’s humbling at Bramall Lane when already-relegated side Norwich City are the visitors to Stamford Bridge this evening.
The Blues were defeated 3-0 by a well-drilled Sheffield United side in South Yorkshire at the weekend, a really poor result for Frank Lampard’s men.
There was initial concern that The Blues’ UEFA Champions League qualification hopes would be dented by the result but both Leicester City and Manchester United dropped points therefore Chelsea remained in third.
The South West Londoners go into their latest match with the same absentees as they had for Saturday’s trip to Bramall Lane. N’Golo Kante continues to be sidelined with his hamstring problem while Fikayo Tomori and Billy Gilmour are also out with long term injuries.
Norwich City arrive in SW6 on the back on seven consecutive Premier League defeats. Their 4-0 home loss to West Ham United at the weekend brought the curtain down on their one-season stay in the top flight.
The Canaries will be without Grant Hanley, Christoph Zimmermann and Sam Byram for their fixture against The Blues with the trio ruled out for the rest of the season. German midfielder Moritz Leitner is also absent through long term injury.
The match is scheduled to kick-off at 8.15pm and will be screened live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League channels.
