Chelsea’s attacking duo Willian and Pedro have agreed short term contract extensions with the club according to reports on the club’s official website.

The experienced pair were due to leave Stamford Bridge when their contracts expire on 30 June.

With The Blues’ season still ongoing as a result of the enforced break due to the Coronavirus pandemic, it has now been confirmed that the club have come to an agreement with both Willian and Pedro which will see them remain in South West London until the season officially ends. It has been reported that the contract extensions will cover an extended run in the Emirates FA Cup, as well as Chelsea’s involvement in the 2019/2020 UEFA Champions League.

Willian has appeared in 29 of Chelsea’s 30 Premier League fixtures this season. The Brazilian forward has netted five goals including a double in The Blues’ 2-0 victory at Tottenham Hotspur in December. Pedro has made just nine league appearances, netting in the 4-0 victory over Everton at The Bridge immediately prior to the break. The Spaniard has been named amongst the substitutes on 10 occasions.

Both players are likely to remain with Chelsea until August with the club’s remaining UEFA Champions League fixtures set to take place in that month, potentially on neutral territory.
