Chelsea are set to finally return to action in the Emirates FA Cup next month with dates for their quarter-final tie at Leicester City now having been provisionally agreed.
Sky Sports have revealed that the four Emirates FA Cup quarter-final ties will provisionally be played over the weekend of 27/28 June with all four games likely to be staged at different times.
Chelsea’s quarter-final tie against Leicester City continues to be pencilled in for The King Power Stadium, however, the venues for the four quarter-final ties are yet to be confirmed.
Should The Blues advance to the last four by defeating Brendan Rodgers’ Leicester City side, it is understood that the two semi-finals will be staged at Wembley Stadium over the weekend of 18/19 July. The FA Cup final has initially been pencilled in for 1 August, again at the national stadium.
Chelsea eased their way beyond Sky Bet Championship club Nottingham Forest in the third round of the competition, beating The Tricky Trees 2-0 at Stamford Bridge with Callum Hudson-Odoi and Ross Barkley on target for The Blues. Frank Lampard’s men again saw off second tier opposition in the fourth round as goals from Michy Batshuayi and Fikayo Tomori helped Chelsea to a 2-1 win at Hull City.
The South West Londoners also netted two goals in their fifth round tie, Willian and Ross Barkley were on target as Chelsea defeated Liverpool 2-0 at The Bridge to set up a quarter-final date with Leicester City.
