The English Premier League will meet again on Friday to discuss potential options for the completion of the 2019/2020 season according to reports by Sky Sports.

The competition continues to be suspended due to the Coronavirus pandemic with Chelsea currently occupying fourth position in the table after 29 games.

The English Premier League are thought to be under pressure to complete the season before 30 June with clubs in danger of losing a number of players whose contracts are set to expire. FIFA have encouraged clubs to extend expiring deals until the season officially comes to an end, however, players are free to leave on 30 June and there is no obligation for them to stay for an extended period.

In Chelsea’s case, they have five first team players set to become free agents on 30 June therefore the club will be keen to see the season brought to a conclusion while they can still call upon the quintet’s services.

It is understood that English Premier League officials will meet again on Friday to discuss all potential options for the completion of the season. No official decision is expected to be made with the UK Government yet to lift the lockdown measures implemented three weeks ago.
