Chelsea will be hoping to reach the quarter-finals of the Emirates FA Cup when they take on Liverpool in their fifth round tie at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday evening.

The Blues have reached the last eight in each of their last three seasons and they can make it four with victory over the English Premier League leaders at The Bridge.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard may need to do without Danish centre-back Andreas Christensen for the visit of The Reds with the player having picked up a knock. Injured trio Christian Pulisic, N’Golo Kante and Tammy Abraham remain sidelined.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has struggled to balance his side’s Emirates FA Cup commitments so far this season and the German could opt to experiment with his starting XI once again. Klopp’s tinkering could be limited with Nathaniel Clyne, Naby Keita, Jordan Henderson and Xherdan Shaqiri all out, although Joe Gomez and James Milner are available following Saturday’s shock 3-0 defeat at Watford.

The pair met in the English Premier League at Stamford Bridge earlier this season with Liverpool winning 2-1. Goals from Trent Alexander-Arnold and Roberto Firmino put the visitors two up before Kante pulled one back in the second half.

The match is scheduled to kick-off at 7.45pm and will be screened live on BBC One.
