Chelsea have the opportunity to put a four-point cushion between themselves and fifth place in the English Premier League table when Manchester United are the visitors to Stamford Bridge on Monday evening.

The Blues return from the mid-season break to take on out of form United in the last fixture of the weekend and the heat is on with the gap between themselves and fifth-placed Tottenham Hotspur now down to just a point.

Chelsea go into the match with very much the same problems which they were facing before the break. Midfield duo Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek remain sidelined while striker Tammy Abraham continues to battle an ankle problem and the player will be assessed before kick-off.

Manchester United’s disastrous English Premier League campaign sees them currently occupying ninth position in the English Premier League table. United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will be without injured trio Scott McTominay, Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford. Nemanja Matic is available to face his former club following suspension while striker Odion Ighalo could be set to make his debut.

The match is scheduled to kick-off at 8pm and will be screened live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League channels.
