The Chelsea Development Squad’s Premier League 2 title hopes have taken a blow after Leicester City fought back from 2-0 down to draw 2-2 with The Blues at the EBB Stadium in Aldershot this evening.

Tino Anjorin and Henry Lawrence netted for Joe Edwards’ side as they took a two-goal lead only to see their advantage destroyed late in the match.

After a quiet opening, Chelsea took the lead in the 28th minute when Anjorin struck a powerful effort into the far corner of the Leicester City net.

The Blues added to their lead on the hour when Luke McCormick’s effort was saved and Lawrence swept home the rebound.

The visitors finally grew into the game during the last half-hour and Tyrese Shade pulled a goal back with 16 minutes left on the clock after being played in by teammate Josh Felix-Eppiah.

Chelsea looked set to hang on for the three points until Leicester City netted a dramatic late equaliser when Darnell Johnson fired home from a Callum Wright pass.

The result leaves Chelsea top of the table, however they are just three points clear of The Foxes. Both clubs have the same goal difference while Chelsea have now drawn three of their last five matches.
