Chelsea are into the fifth round of this season’s Emirates FA Cup after beating Sky Bet Championship club Hull City 2-1 at the KCOM Stadium last night.
Michy Batshuayi and Fikayo Tomori got the goals as The Blues edged into the next round of the competition
Chelsea got off to the perfect start when striker Batshuayi fired the ball into the net via a wicked deflection off an opposition player.
Home keeper George Long was then called into action to deny Ross Barkley and Mason Mount from adding to The Blues’ lead before Cesar Azpilicueta saw a shot superbly saved on the stroke of half-time.
The second half took some time to warm up but when it did, Chelsea got their goal. Barkley whipped in a delicious free-kick onto the head of Tomori and the defender directed the ball home at the back post.
Pedro then had two chances to make it 3-0 but missed the target on both occasions before Kamil Grosicki pulled a goal back with a deflected free-kick. The goal was the last key moment of the match as Chelsea comfortably held on to claim a place in the fifth round of the competition.
