Chelsea will be hoping to return to winning ways in the English Premier League when they take on an out of sorts Arsenal side at Stamford Bridge this evening.

The Blues suffered a 1-0 loss to Newcastle United at St James’ Park at the weekend with Isaac Hayden netting a 94th-minute winner for the hosts.

Chelsea manager Frank Lampard goes into tonight’s match without the services of midfield pair Christian Pulisic and Ruben Loftus-Cheek who continue to be sidelined with their respective injury problems.

It is understood that defenders Marcos Alonso and Reece James are expected to be fit for selection. Youngster James went off after 75 minutes in the defeat at Newcastle United while Alonso missed out on the matchday squad due to lack of fitness.

Arsenal make the short trip across London without star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang who is suspended. New Gunners boss Mikel Arteta will not be able to call upon the services of Sead Kolasinac or Reiss Nelson due to injury while the Spaniard could offer a late fitness test to Greek defender Sokratis Papastathopoulos. Calum Chambers and Kieran Tierney are long term absentees.

The match is scheduled to kick-off at 8.15pm and will be screened live on BT Sport 1 and BT Sport Ultimate 4K.
